St. Patrick's Day Update

Another St. Patrick's Day season has come around. Congratulations to our old pal, Jimmy Ray on the occasion of his election as Grand Marshal of the 189th Savannah Saint Patrick's Day Parade. There's none more worthy of this honor than Jimmy - a fine representative of Savannah, the Savannah Irish and the United States Marine Corps, and is very active in veterans affairs and benevolent organizations. Well done Jimmy. I'm proud to know you. Here's a newspaper story about his investiture. It's going to be a pretty hectic paddy's week at Kevin Barry's Pub, but one guaranteed to help you make new friends and mend fences. I'll be starting things off on Wednesday, March 13th. I'll be playing straight through Tuesday, March 19th. Carroll Brown will be joining me on Thursday, the 14th. He'll be playing through the Sunday, the 17th of March (Paddy's Day). On Friday, the 15th of March, Harry O'Donoghue will join Carroll and myself. he'll be with us through Sunday, the 17th of March. In addition to that, Colleen Settle and Mike Corbett, collectively known as Seldom Sober will be performing on Saturday, the 16th. So the lineup as of 8 March is as follows: Frank Emerson :13-19 March Carroll Brown :14-17 March Harry O'Donoghue : 15-17 March Seldom Sober: 16 March As we get close to the day itself, the music will start earlier and earlier. We'll be doing singles, duos and trios. Singles, duos and trios will be on the main stage in the Music Listening Room. Singles in round robin style, will be played on the upstairs stage in the Hall of Heroes. Seldom Sober will perform as a duo on both stages. This year's St. Patrick's Day Parade will be held on Saturday, March 16th. There's a mass at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist at 8:00 AM. The parade kicks off from Forsythe Park at 10:15 AM and lasts at least three hours. You can get all sorts of information about the parade, the route, times, surrounding activities, accomodations, rules and regulations, etc. at the St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee Official Site I speak for us all when I say that we look forward to seeing you and having a few laughs.
