October 2017 Update

Hello Everyone – Before I get into my usual spiel, please allow me to express my prayers and condolences for all those killed and wounded and their families in the events that took place in Las Vegas and my appreciation and admiration for all those who provided aid and comfort as well as those who took steps to eradicate the cause and see to it that more carnage was not in the offing. That said, I’ll be appearing at Kevin Barry’s in Savannah 9-15 October – that’s next week, as I write this. Monday – Saturday, I go on at 8:00 PM. On Sunday, I go on after the open session, which runs from about 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM and is hosted by the ever-talented and welcoming Savannah Ceilidh Band. Speaking of Kevin Barry’s all of us who have anything to do with the place are keeping our fingers crossed that the pub will score some trophies at the Irish Pubs Global Awards Presentation, which takes place at the Mansion House in Dublin, Ireland on 11 October. Kevin Barry’s made the short list of finalists in 7 out of 12 categories that apply to North America. *Irish Pub of the Year *Best Entertainment Experience *Best Irish Whiskey Experience *Best Bar Person *Best Marketing Campaign *Best food Experience *Best Cocktail Experience I’m sure that I can speak for the entire Kevin Barry’s organization when I say win, place or show, thank you very much indeed to all those who took the time cast a vote or two in the pub’s column. I have plenty of copies of “Frank Tells Tales” available for purchase. They make wonderful birthday, Christmas, Arbor Day, Thanksgiving, Anniversary, Divorce, Annulment, Christening, Confirmation, Bar or Bat Mitzvah, etc. etc., etc. gifts. The book is $10 at the gig or $11.50 through the mail. Just send a check made out to me at the following address: 790 East Spiller Street Wytheville, Virginia 24382 I’ll autograph a copy made out to whomever you say and send it to you straight away. (If you don’t want it autographed, that’s OK too. I’ll have hurt feelings, but I will cope.) I’m out of CDs right now, but you can download lots of my stuff through CD Baby. Just type in www.cdbaby.com and then enter “frank emerson’ in the search box. You can also find me on Spotify, Apple iTunes, Google Music Store, Rhapsody, Deezer and Amazon. I guess that’ll do it for this rant. I hope that you can come by to see me this coming week. If you feel like it, drop an e-mail to me at femerson@embarqmail.com or stop by for a visit at www.frankemerson.com. So long and God bless until next month and please join me in keeping those of us in harms way - at home and overseas - in our daily thoughts and prayers. Frank
