St Patrick’s 2017 Hello to All out there – Well Saint Patrick’s season is on us again. It seems to come around every year at this time, doesn’t it? I do hope everyone is girded up and ready to take on another one…And that everyone duly observes the Feast of Saint Patrick in an appropriate manner. In Savannah, Georgia the feast day is extended somewhat. The parade, which in many quarters is said to be the largest in the country, is set for the day itself: 17 March. You can get all sorts of information about the event at the Official Site of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee (http://www.savannahsaintpatricksday.com/). Ground zero for me will be Kevin Barry’s Pub at 117 W. River Street (912-233-9626). Due to the volume and ebb and flow of people in all sorts of physical conditions, we can’t accept reservations. The entertainment lineup is as follows: 15, 16,17, 18, 19, 20: Frank Emerson !6,17,18: Frank Emerson, Carroll Brown, Harry O’Donoghue 17: Frank Emerson, Carroll Brown, Harry O’Donoghue and Seldom Sober (Colleen Settle and Mike Corbett) So you can see, it’s spread out. We’ll be playing round robin upstairs and downstairs 16, 17 & 18 and kicking off the music during the day. Also on 16, 17 and 18, we’ll wind up the day with a trio in the downstairs listening room (Carroll, Harry and myself) along with some guests. There is a special event cover charge on 16,17 & 18 so we don’t want you to be surprised. The regular cover charge is in effect on the other days (15,19 &20). I guess that about covers it. Here’s hoping you can join us and here’s wishing you a premature happy and safe St. Patrick’s Day!
