January 3 Update

Hello all – I hope everyone had a nice peaceful, blessed and merry Christmas and to borrow from Phil Robertson, I hope you all are having and will continue to have a happy, happy, happy new year. Just a couple of quick shameless, capitalistic commercial plugs: 1. The new movie “Lone Survivor” about the 2005 Operation Red Wings is just out. It comes highly recommended from quarters that know more about these things than I. Incidentally, or maybe not so incidentally, January 1 was the 52nd anniversary of the commissioning of the first Navy SEAL teams. SEALS trace their origins to World War II: the Amphibious Scout and Raider School and the Underwater Demolition Teams (UDT) 2. Kevin Barry’s Pub was featured in the new coffee-table book, Irish Pubs in ` America. The pub hopes to have copies for sale at some time, but in the mean time, you can get a look at it and purchase a copy at the book’s website: http://irishpubs.deedspublishing.com/ That’s about it for now. I hope everyone is staying warm. If not, you could do worse than to come on into Kevin Barry’s this coming week 6-12 January. Shows start at 8:00 PM, except on Sunday night when the Savannah Ceilidh Group anchors an open session from 6:30 until about 8:30, quarter til 9 – somewhere in there. I follow on their heels. Take care for now, Hang tough, Stay low and move slow Frank
