Hello to Everyone from the mountains of SW Virginia, where there is a movement afoot for Wythe County - among others - to secede from Virginia and become freshly minted counties in West Virginia for reasons which meed no explanation, if you've been following the headlines. Apparently, it's possible and legal. I'll keep you posted.
Now to the NEWS:
As you can see, I have a new website. Please stop by whenever you like, leave a comment or send me a note via firstname.lastname@example.org. I'll be posting regular updates here so you can keep up to date with all the varied and exciting happenings in the life of a semi-retired fossil.
To continue: I've has an historical/investigative essay published in the online magazine, "Military History Now". The piece is about an event in the American Civil War about which few people ouside Southwest Virginia are aware. Here's the link:

You can download and in most cases purchase individual pieces of my music from a number of sources, including Youtube, Spotify, Apple iTunes, Google Music Store, Rhapsody, Deezer, Amazon, through CD Baby or even here at this website.
I have an EPK at: www.sonicbids.com/ban/frnkemerson2
If you have a writing project you'd consider having me tackle, just drop me an email with the details and ask for my sample portfolio and resume and I'll send them so you straight along as Word document attachments.
Finally, I'm not really coming out of my state of semi-hibernation, but I will be doing a program at The Heritage Preservation Center, 115 W. Spiller Street, Wytheville, Virginia on 5 March - that's Thursday and the performance serves to kick off this year's schedule of "Museum Thursdays with History, Song and Stories". The two-set show starts at 7:00 PM and calls for an $8.00 donation. Reservations are advised and can be made by phoning 276-223-2220. I'll be mixing up the material a bit in that not only will it not be all Irish, but if I should forget something like the words or even the lyrics to a tune, I'll try to remember them in time to skillfully slip them into another one, just as slick as I don't know what. And before you know it, Bob's yer uncle!
That ought to do it for right now. As always, please join me in keeping in your thoughts and prayers those men and women who, for our sake, go in harm' way at home and overseas.
All the best until next time,
